Deputy Principal's Update

Alumni & Staff Dinner

On Saturday 30th May, nearly 100 guests gathered at the City Bowls Club Carmichael Room for our 40th Anniversary Alumni & Staff Dinner, marking four decades of God's faithfulness to King's College. It was a wonderful evening filled with memories, laughter and heartfelt gratitude.

Lyndell Tucker and Joel Heywood each shared highlights of the College's history, accompanied by photographs that brought many moments back to life. Michael Tucker served as master of ceremonies. A special thank you to those speakers, not just for their efforts on the night, but for their years of service to King’s College.

There was a real buzz around the room as old friends caught up, many having not seen one another for decades. Yet above all, the prevailing sense throughout the evening was one of thankfulness to God for His goodness to His people and for His sustaining hand over a Christian school in Warrnambool for the past forty years.

As Michael, Lyndell and Joel spoke it reinforced the reality that the story of King's College is ultimately God’s story. As a community, we continue to reap the benefits of His love, care and wisdom working through the lives of founders, staff, teachers, students and families. We stand on the shoulders of those who have gone before us and are deeply grateful for the legacy they have left.

God has been abundantly good to King's College, and we continue to give Him glory in all that we do. As we celebrate the past and look to the future, may we remain committed to the work He has entrusted to us, remembering that our labour is ultimately unto Him.

I would like to sincerely thank our Events Team for coordinating the evening, Kate McNaughton for beautifully preparing the function room, and Tom Rouse for photographing our alumni throughout the night. A huge thank you also goes to the many staff members whose efforts behind the scenes helped make the evening such a memorable occasion.

"For from Him and through Him and for Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen." - Romans 11:36

FightMND Big Freeze Fundraiser

Our school community came together this week for a fantastic day of fun and fundraising in support of FightMND. Students and staff added a splash of blue to their uniforms, enjoyed free Zooper Doopers at lunchtime, and eagerly gathered to watch some of our brave staff members take on the Ice Bucket Challenge.

The atmosphere throughout the event was amazing, with plenty of laughter, excitement and community spirit on display. Most importantly, it was a wonderful opportunity to raise awareness and support the search for a cure for Motor Neurone Disease.

A special thank you goes to Rosie and Chloe (Year 4), whose passion and enthusiasm inspired many families to support this important cause through the purchase of FightMND merchandise. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who donated and helped make the day such a success.

Together, we showed that even small acts of generosity can make a big difference. Thank you to our entire school community for getting behind this wonderful cause.
