Reconciliation Week

Tuesday was National Sorry Day; on Thursday we celebrated reconciliation week with a smoking ceremony with Echuca Twin Rivers Specialist School which was conducted by Uncle Rick Ronnan. On Friday we celebrated National Reconciliation Week with our community when our cultural leaders participated in the community Reconciliation Day walk.

The week is a chance for our community to learn about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and achievements. This year’s theme – All In – invites us to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation.

Taking part in National Reconciliation Week supports schools to comply with Child Safe Standards 1. This requires schools to establish a culturally safe environment in which the diverse and unique identities and experiences of Aboriginal children and young people are respected and valued.

Social Media Promotions

Thank you and congratulations to the school’s social media team of Jacob, Bec, Tara and Megan on the ongoing social media promotion of Echuca Twin Rivers PS via its Facebook page. These posts have promoted the school to our community, acknowledged the great work that takes place at our school and recognises our wonderful staff team. Check them out.
