Monash Medical Orchestra

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended our musical collaboration with the Monash Medical Orchestra and the Monash Medical Jazz Ensemble on Saturday, August 17th. It was an immense privilege to participate in the Music for the Valley concert, which is the highlight of our performance calendar.

We would also like to express our deep appreciation to Monash University and Federation University for their support and for bringing such an exceptional concert to the Latrobe Valley.

Once again, thank you to all who contributed to the evening’s success. We’re very much looking forward to this partnership continuing for many years to come.

Primary Schools Tour

Over the past fortnight, we have had the wonderful opportunity to visit several local primary schools, including Churchill, Churchill North, Boolarra, and Yinnar. It was a delight to witness our students in action as they presented engaging and interactive performances and the joy they brought to the audiences as they sang and danced. We want to extend our thanks to our local Primary Schools for allowing us to visit their schools and spread the joy of music.

Kurnai’s Got Talent

KGT is back for another year, and we couldn’t be more excited! This highly anticipated event offers an incredible opportunity for all students to showcase their talents, compete for exciting prizes, and battle it out for the prestigious title of Kurnai's Got Talent Champion! Auditions for this year's event will take place during Weeks 9 and 10 of this term and continue into Weeks 1 and 2 of Term 4. We encourage all students to sign up and be part of this fantastic experience. Whether you're a seasoned performer or trying something new, Kurnai's Got Talent is the perfect way to showcase your abilities.

I want to extend my thanks to all of our performing arts students who have participated in the various performances throughout the term. They have done an outstanding job in performing and representing our college, their commitment and exemplary behaviour have been truly impressive. Their success reflects hard work and dedication to the performing arts, it’s wonderful to see our students’ talents being recognised. Well done!

Kurnai Aspiring Athletes Program

At the beginning of Term 3, we launched the Kurnai Aspiring Athlete Program in partnership with Gippsland Sports Academy.

The initiative is designed to support and elevate the next generation of athletes within our learning community, providing them with exceptional resources, training, and opportunities to excel in their field.

This term, students engaged in a nutrition session run by a qualified sports nutritionist, strength and conditioning sessions, and lunchtime fitness sessions.

They also participated in an introductory session at the Summit, which focused on team building, physical strength, stamina, and mental endurance.

Exciting things are happening over the remainder of the year.
