Graduating Class of 2024

On Thursday, 21st November, the Altona College community gathered to celebrate the achievements of the graduating Class of 2024 at the Altona Sports Club. The evening marked a significant milestone for our Year 12 students as they reflected on their school journey and looked ahead to their bright futures.

The night featured a delightful sit-down dinner, accompanied by heartfelt speeches from staff and student leaders. These speeches highlighted the resilience, dedication, and accomplishments of this remarkable cohort, as well as the unwavering support of their families and teachers.

We extend our warmest congratulations to our award winners, whose efforts and contributions were recognised during the event:

  • Captains' Award: Harry Conway
  • Principal's Award: Melisa Cukovic
  • ADF Leadership Award: Taleea Limbrick
  • ADF Future Innovators Award: James Stojanovski

Special mention goes to Taleea Limbrick, who received multiple accolades for her outstanding achievements across leadership, STEM, and health and physical education.

The evening would not have been possible without the generosity of our sponsors, including the Altona Sports Club, Altona City Rotary Club, Toyota, and the Australian Defence Force. We thank them for their continued support in recognising and celebrating the success of our students.

As the Class of 2024 embarks on their next chapters, we are filled with pride and excitement for their futures. Congratulations to all our graduates, and may your journeys ahead be as bright as the memories you leave behind.

Scholarship News

Altona College sincerely thanks the Bendigo Community Banks of Altona and Laverton for their generous support of our school community.

Their funding has had a meaningful impact on our students and has supported several important initiatives, including:

  • Harmony Day celebrations, promoting inclusivity and connection within our school community.
  • The Mentor Program, which helps students develop valuable financial literacy skills.

One of the most valued contributions is the ongoing support for our Breakfast Club, which provides meals to hundreds of students each day. This program is funded in partnership with the Rotary Club of Altona and the Bendigo Community Banks of Altona and Laverton.

The Bendigo Community Banks have also supported our students through scholarships. This year, four Year 10 students were selected by school staff and endorsed by the Bendigo Community Bank for demonstrating Altona College’s values of integrity, innovation, and respect.

We congratulate the following scholarship recipients:

  • Zane Eddelstein
  • Melodi Spears
  • Athan Donaldson
  • Lula Abdulahi Oumer

These students have positively contributed to our school through their efforts in community service, extracurricular activities, academic success, or social engagement. They represent the values of Altona College.

The Bendigo Community Banks of Altona and Laverton play a vital role in our community. Founded by local businesses and residents, the banks have contributed over $6.4 million to support schools, emergency services, charities, festivals, and other programs that benefit the community.

We thank them for their ongoing partnership and support.
