2024 Victorian School Garden Awards

Students from our Primary Wellbeing Group visited the Botanic Gardens to accept the prestigious Best Habitat School Garden Award for their outstanding Butterfly Habitat project

2024 – What a Year!

Can you believe we’re only a few weeks away from the end of term? What a fantastic year 2024 has been! We’ve had an incredible lineup of events that brought our school community together, including the much-loved Mother’s Day High Tea, the festive Christmas in July, and the fun-filled Trivi– Yeah! Our Mother’s and Father’s Day stalls were also a hit, bringing smiles to many faces. To wrap up the year, we’re gearing up for the highly anticipated End of Year Soirée.

End of Year Soirée

The Primary School End of Year Soirée will be a night to remember! Alongside the festivities, we’ll be supporting the school raffle/silent auction and hosting a Sausage Sizzle and Snack Stall. If you’re able to lend a hand by collecting prize donations or helping at the BBQ, we’d love to hear from you (altonafundraisingcommittee@gmail.com). This is a great chance to end the year on a high note while supporting our school community.

Our Fundraising Success in 2024

This year, your amazing support helped us achieve incredible things. Thanks to everyone’s fundraising efforts, we were able to:

• Support the Volleyball Team enter into a 3-day competition
• Purchase a marquee and tear-drop banners for P-12 sports events
• Equip our Performing Arts Department with new gear for P-12 classes and any upcoming events
• Finalise the Gaga Pit & organising new signage

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended, participated, or contributed to these efforts. Your generosity made it all possible, and our kids are thriving because of it!

Looking Ahead to 2025

Exciting news – we’ve rebranded as Family & Friends of Altona College, and we’re setting our sights on making 2025 even better! Next year, we’ll focus on creating more opportunities for families and the community to connect, while continuing to raise much-needed funds for our school.

We’re already planning some fantastic initiatives, including:

• Barefoot Bowls
• Family Portraits
• Comedy Night
• Trivia (back by popular demand!)

Our first meeting of 2025 is scheduled for February 10 at 7 PM at the Altona Sports Club, and we’d love to see you there. Let’s kick off the new year together and make it unforgettable!
