From the Principal
Throughout Week 6, Endeavour College celebrated Book Week, bringing back the fun, creativity and excitement of a much-loved celebration of books and literacy.
The Leadership Team identified Book Week as something that had been missing from the College calendar in recent years. With our Junior School due to open in 2027, we felt this was the perfect time to reintroduce the festivities and celebrate the important role that reading, storytelling and literacy play across all stages of learning.
A range of activities took place throughout the week, giving students and staff plenty of opportunities to get involved. These included blackout poetry in Care Groups, a Wicked watch party in the Discovery Centre, a book swap in the Mall, and bake sales that added to the fun and community atmosphere.
Of course, the highlight of the week was the Book Week Dress-Up Parade. Students and staff embraced the opportunity to bring their favourite characters to life, with plenty of creativity and enthusiasm on display.
It was wonderful to see Book Week return to Endeavour and to have our staff and students come together around a shared celebration of books, imagination and literacy.
As we look ahead to welcoming our first Junior School students in 2027, we hope Book Week will once again become a much-anticipated tradition on the Endeavour College calendar.
While Book Week provided a wonderful opportunity to celebrate learning and community across the College, it was not the only occasion this week where our students had the opportunity to showcase their talents and represent Endeavour with pride.
On Wednesday, 28 August, the Endeavour College Board met for its monthly Board meeting and, for the third year in a row, we were privileged to have our Stage 2 Food and Technology students cater for and serve the Board as part of one of their final assessments.
Once again, our students rose to the occasion. From the moment Board members arrived, the students demonstrated outstanding professionalism in the way they greeted, hosted and served our guests. Just as impressive was the quality of the food they prepared, with students challenging themselves to produce some truly impressive dishes that showcased their skills, creativity and attention to detail.
I was incredibly proud to see our students demonstrate what I already know about them – that they are capable, talented and polite young men and women who represent Endeavour College exceptionally well. Experiences such as these provide our students with an authentic opportunity to put their learning into practice, while also giving members of our wider College community the chance to see firsthand the quality of our students and their work.
Thank you to Ms Hutton for her leadership, guidance and commitment to our students in this space, and congratulations to the Stage 2 Food and Technology students for once again making the College proud.
