Students from Years 7–11 recently represented our College at the Brimbank Ripples Student Symposium at Victoria University, joining students from across the community to discuss student wellbeing and issues affecting young people.
Through workshops, discussions and collaborative activities, students explored topics including engagement, youth safety and creating more inclusive school environments. Our students also shared findings from student surveys conducted across the College.
Two key areas emerged for action: lockers and bathrooms. Students identified concerns around overcrowding, respect and the condition of shared facilities.
As a result, students are now exploring ways to beautify and improve our school bathrooms, including ideas such as updated tapware, soap facilities and lighting. The day was a wonderful demonstration of student leadership in action. Our students showed that leadership is not just about having a title; it is about listening to others, identifying issues that matter to the community and working collaboratively to find meaningful solutions.
We are proud of our students for representing the College and contributing to meaningful change in our community.
