JPSSA Athletics

On Thursday, 30 athletes represented the College at the JPSSA Athletics Carnival held at the State Athletics Centre. There was certainly a strong sense of brotherhood and team spirit as the boys participated in track and field events to the best of their ability.  

Throughout the day, there were some outstanding performances by individuals and teams.  

Records were broken from Mason Lenton in year 5 Discuss, as well as Kaden Louwrens, Noah Parnham, Mason Lenton and Spencer Landis in the 4 x 100 Year 5 relay team.

Science Alive: Energy and Change

Our Year 4–6 boys had a fantastic time this morning at an exciting Science Alive incursion held in Gibney Hall. The presentation focused on Energy and Change and had the boys engaged from start to finish through a range of interactive experiments and demonstrations.

It was wonderful to see the boys so enthusiastic and curious as they explored scientific concepts in a fun and hands-on way. They certainly learnt a lot while enjoying the opportunity to get involved and experience science in action!

During the morning, we also celebrated the winners of our Periodic Table Competition, which was held as part of Science Week. A big congratulations to all of our winners for their fantastic efforts and knowledge of the elements.

Reminders  

Year 5 Camp – Medication Handover Reminder Medication Drop-Off 

Our Year 5 Camp medication drop-off process will be the same for both prescription and non-prescription medications. The only difference is the day on which medication needs to be handed in, as prescription medications require a handover directly to the Camp Nurse. 

Non-Prescription Medication – Wednesday 16 September, 8.00 am – 9.30 am 

Non-prescription medication can be handed in at the Junior School Administration Office. A nurse does not need to be present for this handover. 

Prescription Medication – Tuesday 22 September, 7.30 am 

The Camp Nurse will be on site in the STEM Room from 7.30 am to receive and conduct the prescription medication handover. This applies to students who require prescription medication or have more complex medical needs. 

For all medications, please ensure that the required medication details are clearly recorded in both Consent2Go and the Medical Authorisation Form linked. Medication Authorisation Form 

Year 5 Camp Briefing | Parent Information Session

A reminder for all Year 5 parents that the Parent Information Session will be held on Monday 14 September at 4.00 PM. The briefing will take place in the Year 5 White classroom. Whilst parents are in the information session, supervision will be provided in the Undercover Area for boys who are required to wait for their parents. All information regarding Camp and packing instructions are included in Consent2Go and will also be covered at the parent briefing. 

Year 4 Bake Sale

Our Year 4 students will be holding a bake sale fundraiser on Monday, 14 September to raise funds for the Christian Service. Come along, grab a tasty treat and support a great cause!

Dance and Drama Showcase 

The recent Dance and Drama Showcase was a spectacular evening, highlighted by a fantastic performance from our very own Junior School BIG Dance group. The boys were exceptional with their use of props, which included coordinating multiple pieces of elastic. This was also a wonderful opportunity for our boys to witness the Senior School dance, and drama students perform.  

Italian Week – Week 9

Next week, the College will celebrate Italian Week with a range of exciting activities organised by our Italian Department. This special week provides students with the opportunity to immerse themselves in Italian language and culture through a variety of engaging experiences. 

Students can also enjoy a delicious Italian treat, with gelato available via pre-order on Wednesday 16 September. Orders must be placed through the College Online Store using the following link: Gelato Order Junior School – Trinity College. Please note that orders are to be kept to one per student.  

Please note that orders will close Friday 11 September, 5.00pm. 

Languages Week Activity Schedule 

Monday 14 September 

• Bocce at Recess for all Junior School students. 

During Italian Lessons Throughout the Week 

• Year 6 students will participate in a hands-on gnocchi-making experience. 

• Year 5 students will learn a selection of Italian songs, which they will perform at Assembly on Friday 19 September. 

• Year 4 students will immerse themselves in a variety of traditional Italian activities during their Italian lessons. 

Wednesday 16 September 

• Gelato Day (pre-orders only). 

Thursday 17 September 

• Bocce at Lunchtime for all Junior School students. 

Friday 19 September 

• Year 5 Italian Song Performance at Assembly. 

We look forward to a wonderful week of language, culture, music, food and fun as our students embrace the spirit of Italy and celebrate the importance of learning languages. 

Year 5/6 Spelling Bee Winners

Congratulations to our Year 5 and 6 Spelling Bee winners! A fantastic achievement that reflects their hard work, focus and impressive spelling skills. Well done to all our students who took part, and a special congratulations to our winners!

Morning Drop-Off

Mornings can be a whirlwind. Between finding missing shoes, locating that all-important lunch box, and making it to school before the bell, it's easy to feel like you're competing in an Olympic event! Afternoons can be just as busy, with everyone eager to get home after a long day. With this in mind, we'd like to remind all families that student safety remains our highest priority during these peak drop-off and pick-up times. 

To help keep our community safe and traffic flowing smoothly, we ask all families to observe the following: 

• Please adhere to the College speed limit of 10 km/h. It may feel slower than your morning coffee kicks in, but it helps keep everyone safe. 

• Drive carefully through the Main Driveway and the roundabout near the white canopy/umbrella. 

• Do not drop boys off between the roundabout and the Pavilion. This is dangerous and disrupts the flow of traffic. 

• Do not use staff parking bays for drop-off or pick-up. 

Thank you for your patience, cooperation, and shared commitment to keeping our students safe. By working together and following the signage and road rules, we can ensure that everyone arrives and departs safely, with far less stress and considerably fewer "Where are my keys?" Moments. 

Please also note that there is no teacher supervision after school at the white canopy/umbrella area. All Junior School students should wait in the designated Junior School area until they are collected.

TC Cafe Orders  

Commencing Monday 24 August, there will be an option to order recess for your son via the Flexischools app. A reminder to parents that our Café now offers the option to pre-order Afternoon Tea through the Flexischools app.  Afternoon Tea includes a muffin and a juice for $8.00 and will be delivered to the Junior School on the afternoon you select. Simply place your order via the Flexischools app before the relevant cut-off time to have Afternoon Tea delivered to your child.
