REGIONAL BASKETBALL - HERE WE GO!
Term 4 is certainly set for a jam-packed number of Regional HoopTime days for many of our Year 3-6 students. From our District HoopTime tournaments over the year, we excitingly had five of our teams win their division, securing a spot in the next level; Regional HoopTime.
Next Wednesday we have our two Senior Future Star teams set to play off in their Regional HoopTime tournament. Our Senior Future Stars Boys/Mixed and our Senior Future Star Girls ‘Flamingo’s’ team will head out to the State Basketball Centre in Wantirna South. We wish both teams all the very best and know they’ll represent our school well. A special pre-thank you to the parents that are supporting the teams with transport, coaching and scoring, along with Mr Peter Tyndall for helping coach and support the teams over the day. GOOO ST. FINBAR’S!
The remaining 3 Regional HoopTime tournament dates are as follows:
Junior FS Girls (Fireflies) (Yr. 3/4's)

SUPER-SPECIAL NATIONALS EXPERIENCE & OUTCOMES
NATIONAL AEROSCHOOL AEROBICS CHAMPIONSHIPS!
In the final week of last term St. Finbar’s had eleven very excited and extremely fortunate Year 5 & 6 girls head up to the sunny Gold Coast to compete in the 2026 AeroSchools National Championships, after qualifying for this National tournament at our Victorian Championships back in August. Unfortunately Mayura T (Year 5) was unable to attend to compete with her Year 5 team, with a prior overseas trip to visit family already planned.
From all reports, the girls all had a wonderful experience, having a lot of fun together up there and were so proud to represent their school at such a special event. Both teams performed their refined and polished and well-rehearsed routines to the song ‘Houdini’, in front of a large crowd at the Gold Coast Sports and Leisure Centre.
We are very excited to announce that BOTH teams performed amazingly well, with our Year 6 team placing 2nd in their Division, and our Year 5 team placing 4th! HOW AMAZING IS THAT!
Congratulations to each of these girls:
4th place: Mia R, Ellie L, Lily Y, Charlotte Y, Poppy M, Mayura T (absent)
2nd place: Vikki M, Isla J, Izzy G, Olivia F, Holly Y, Harper L
SPORTING SHARE!
Inter School Ski Sports
We enjoy sharing our student’s involvement in all types of sports and recreational pursuits; and this one highlights our amazing SF family support and brave, competitive sporting efforts by our students. James D (4D) recently participated in the Victorian Interschool Ski Sports up at Mt. Buller for his second time. James has enjoyed skiing with his family over many years now and hopes to encourage some other keen skiers to join in on the fun next year as a St. Finbar’s team! Many thanks to James for sharing this amazing recount of his experience and enjoyment for this fun event!
My recount: I competed in my first skiing competition when I was nine and I liked it, so I knew that I had to come back! It's great fun to go down a little ramp into whatever race they’re running. Unfortunately I got disqualified in the second run because I fell, but it was great fun all the same! I like the community up there in Mount Buller and I do recommend this for next year and hope that others can join me in making up a St. Finbar’s team! Fun fact -
you eat marshmallows every day and roast them next to a fire. I like my coach Sam. Oh yeah there's a big break if you're first, because they swapped it around, so you drink hot chocolate! Mount Buller is a fun and vibrant community; not just at the
restaurants, but also around the town. Skiing and snowboarding
was born into the community.
All around Mount Buller there's cheering and laughter and that is what Inter School Ski Sports is all about and competitors showed it all the way!
