School Spectacular

In week 7 our Lyambay Dancers travelled down to Sydney to perform in this year's School Spectacular! They did such a deadly job and we are so proud of everything they have achieved this year. We had 4 dancers Nya, Jess, Edward and Alexis who were a part of the Aboriginal Dance Company and 8 dancers Lelia, Madi, Riley, TJ, Jovan, Kenzie, Patty and Tayla who were a part of the Aboriginal Dance Ensemble. The piece they performed was called Heal.

We would like to thank everyone that helped support and encourage our dancers including their families, the Oorala Aboriginal Center at UNE Armidale, the Rotary Club of Armidale Central, the Waratah Education Foundation and the Armidale Regional Council. We would also like to acknowledge the hard work of the staff who helped organise and support our dancers through months of rehearsals, auditions, and trips to Sydney, so thank you Aunty Tash, Jaiden and Ms Gammage.

Please tune into channel 7 on Friday19th of December at 7pm to watch the televised showing of the Schools Spectacular or on Saturday the 20th of December at 10:30am to watch the encore.

To wrap up the year in Term 5 we were joined by several students to finish painting off the poles of our yarning circle. It was a fantastic way to end the year and see all the deadly designs that our students have come up with.
