Celebrating a Big Year for the Side-by-Side Choir!
What an incredible year it has been for our Side-by-Side Choir! Our students have shone brightly at every performance, sharing music, joy, and the true meaning of inclusion with our school and wider community.
This year, the choir proudly performed at:
NECOM’s Winter Choral Concert
NECOM’s Christmas Choral Concert
ASCENT’s Disability Awareness Showcase Two whole-school assemblies, including a beautiful performance for the International Day of People with a Disability
Christmas in the Mall Concert
The Side-by-Side Choir began in 2012, created to give Support Unit students at Armidale High School the opportunity to sing alongside their mainstream peers, supported, included, and celebrated. Over a decade later, the choir continues to embody everything it was built for — belonging, connection and the joy of music.
To this day, the choir brings smiles to everyone who hears them, but most importantly, it brings confidence, pride and happiness to the students who take part.
A huge thank you to all the students, staff and families who make this wonderful group possible. Here’s to another year of singing together, Side-by-Side.
Year 10 Camp
"In week 8 of term 4, Year 10 ventured down to Sydney for their final year group camp. We had an amazing time taking in the city and exploring all the destinations we visited. We had the opportunity to visit, Centerpoint Tower and see all of Sydney, We got to visit Taronga Zoo, Sea Life Aquarium and the Australian Museum and learnt lots. We visited Quarantine Station in Manly and had a ghost tour of Australia's most haunted site. We got to kick back at Timezone Arcade and at Raging Waters and enjoyed spending time together and in the sun. It was a great way to end the year and to bring us together.
