Principal's Message

Year 1/2 Camp

A big thank you to our fabulous Year One/Two teachers and of course our super students for a fabulous camp this week.  Camp ADANAC in Yarra Junction was once again a wonderful host to our school.

Hoops with Mitchy

Next week our Year 3/4 and 5/6 students will be taking part in some basketball workshops with Mitch Saxon, a local personal trainer and youth basketball coach.  Please make sure students are wearing appropriate footwear and uniform to school on Thursday for the next five weeks to allow them to take part comfortably.

Parent Opinion Survey

The 2024 Parent, Caregiver and Guardian Opinion Survey organised by DET is now available to complete online from today to Friday 30 August 2024. The survey seeks feedback on school climate, community engagement in learning and teaching practices for student engagement and learning outcomes. The survey link will be available to parents, caregivers and guardians and will be shared via COMPASS. Our school is very eager to have as many families complete this survey as possible. Please keep your eye out for the link.

School Council – August

On Monday our School Council held their most recent meeting. The following items were discussed:

  • Bushfire preparedness funding and works
  • NAPLAN results
  • End of Term Two Parent Survey Data and follow up actions
  • School finances

Prep Enrolments for 2025

A final reminder for any siblings or prospective 2025 Prep enrolments, you are encouraged to submit your enrolment application to our school ASAP.  In doing so, this ensures that the school can effectively plan for 2025 class sizes and provides us the opportunity to begin planning our transition sessions and welcome packs for the year ahead. If you have any questions or wish to seek any information about this process, please speak to Audrey or myself.

Preparations for Bushfire Season

You may have noticed a bit of a ruckus outside the 3/4F classroom this week.  Glenn our Maintenance enthusiast has been very busy cleaning up the garden bed for the soon to be installed new gardens.

In similar news you may have seen our renovated stairs near the library which are looking lovely with a freshen up and some extra paint.

Clean up for bushfire season is beginning shortly.  Huts and other debris around the yard will be taken away.  But don’t worry – Hut Building season will return in Term Two next year!
