MUFFIN TREAT DAY
Our next Parents & Friends fundraiser is a Blueberry Muffin Day, where students can order a muffin for $2. Families will have received a notification yesterday for next week’s Muffin Treat Day. Please send money in a clearly marked envelope with your child/rens name and class listed. We have a gluten free option available, so please indicate on the envelope if this is the type your child requires. A reminder that orders close this Friday 31st October. Please note we are unable to accept late orders as the muffins have to be pre purchased by the Parents & Friends.
YEAR 6 GREAT CYCLE CHALLENGE
Our Year 6 students are participating in the Great Cycle Challenge Australia during the month of October. The challenge provides an opportunity to set a riding goal as well as raise money for childhood cancer research. Students will maximise their ride time during Bike Ed classes as well as participate in our very own St John’s Riding Relay Challenge. Our relay challenge will be held this Thursday 30th October (back up day Friday 31st October). Last year we rode over 700kms. This was an amazing achievement. SCHOOL CLOSURES - MONDAY & TUESDAY
A reminder that next Monday 3rd November is a SCHOOL CLOSURE Day for Staff Professional Development. This day joins the Melbourne Cup PUBLIC HOLIDAY on Tuesday 4th November.
GRADUATION SAVE THE DATE
Our families are asked to ‘Save the Date’ for our 2025 Year 6 Graduation, which will be held on Thursday 11th December @ 7:00pm in the School Hall.
PREP 2026 TRANSITION DATES
It was wonderful to meet our Preps for next year, yesterday. Below is a list of the two remaining Transition Session dates and times. A reminder that non attendance at these sessions can jeopardise your child’s enrolment.

Venue: Drop off at the Hall and children will be directed to classrooms for this session

CULTURAL WEEK PARADE
Parade of Nations
The countdown is on for our annual Cultural Week, where students take part in a range of activities. Next week on Wednesday 5th November, we ask students to come dressed in something that represents their cultural heritage. The image below from our 2023 Parade, may give families some outfit ideas. Weather permitting parents are invited to join us in the undercover area for the Parade of Nations at 9:15am. If the weather is inclement the students will do the parade from the hall and we will live stream the event for parents.
Discos
On Thursday 6th November we will hold various student discos throughout the day. Students in Prep - Year 3 will attend a disco during class time and our Year 4 - 6 students are invited to attend an evening Disco in the school hall. The Year 4, 5 & 6 Disco will be 6:30-8:00pm, in the Hall. A reminder that students must be promptly picked up from this evening event and we are unable to allow students to walk home by themselves.
Cultural Performances
At assembly, several students who have been working with Miss Romeo will be delivering some Cultural performances. A reminder to families that Assemblies are live streamed and can be viewed on our Vimeo Channel.
FREE CRICKET CLINICS PREP-YEAR 6 STUDENTS
During Term 4 we will be running the “Woolworths Cricket Blast Program” from 3:20-4:20pm, on the St John the Apostle School Grounds. The program is free to all participants. These 1hour sessions will run over 4 Tuesdays and parents must collect their child at 4:20pm. The dates of the sessions are:
- Tuesday 11th November
- Tuesday 18th November
- Tuesday 25th November
- Tuesday 2nd December
The program will be delivered by our experienced staff at Cricket Victoria and supported by a local cricket club to provide the opportunity for the participants to continue playing cricket. Each participant receives a Woolworths Cricket Blast pack that contains a shirt and a hat.

HATS
With the commencement of Term 4, all students are expected to be wearing their school hats. If your child’s hat has been misplaced over the winter months, we encourage you to buy a new one. Hats can be purchased from the Office or from Rushfords for $15.
LUNCH ORDERS
Our Parents and Friends have organised two lunch order options for students to access. Below are the details for which option is available on what day. Please note that each option requires a separate App:
Mondays: Students can order a Subway lunch order via the Canteen Hub App
Fridays: Students can order a lunch order from TK Tuckshop via the Spriggy School App
