Welcome back to Term 4!

We have a full and exciting term ahead, with lots of wonderful activities and opportunities to look forward to. Make sure to stay up to date with everything that’s happening throughout the term.

We continue to plan for 2027 whilst keeping the focus on students achieving their academic goals in 2026. Classes are getting closer to being finalised and the 2027 class considerations close today. Use the link below and please complete a seperate form for each child.

2027 Class Considerations

Are you moving on in 2027?

We are now well and truly in the planning phase for 2027 and as such it is important that we have an accurate indication of our student numbers for next year.  If you are planning on relocating at the end of the year or leaving us for any other reasons, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can best support the transition of your child to another school setting.

2027 Intentions

We continue to have exciting developments relating to our teaching and learning program and this week the Department of Education released the Phonics Plus Training portal. Our Epping Views students are featured in the videos used in this course. Teachers and leaders all across Victoria will watch our teachers using evidence-based strategies to engage our students. This will help improve lessons for thousands of Victorian school children. Well done to our amazing leaders, teachers and students on this amazing achievement.

This week, we welcomed our 2027 Foundation (Prep) students for their very first transition session! While the children enjoyed the opportunity to become familiar with their new school environment, parents attended an information session and had the chance to meet and connect with other families. We look forward to our next two transition sessions and continuing to get to know our newest little learners as they take their first steps towards an exciting school journey at EVPS!

October is Mental Health Awareness Month

The 2026 theme is “Together We Thrive.”  This theme reminds us that while life can sometimes feel overwhelming, connection is one of the most powerful ways we can support our mental health and wellbeing.

Through small, everyday moments of care, kindness, conversation and connection, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those around us. Taking the time to check in with someone, offer a listening ear or show a little kindness can help people feel supported, valued and connected. For more information visit the Mental Health Australia webpage.

World Mental Health Day was recognised on 10th October, providing an important reminder to prioritise our own wellbeing and look out for one another. Together, we can continue to build a caring and supportive school community where everyone feels they belong and has the opportunity to thrive.

October is alsoADHD Awareness Month, which provides an opportunity to build understanding and celebrate the strengths, talents and unique perspectives of people with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). By increasing awareness, challenging misconceptions and recognising that everyone learns, thinks and experiences the world differently, we can help create a more inclusive and supportive environment where all students feel understood, accepted and encouraged to reach their full potential.

Thriving Kids

Families are encouraged to explore Thriving Kids, a Victorian Government initiative providing information, guidance and support for families of children aged eight and under with developmental delay or autism, helping them access appropriate support to build their child’s skills, confidence and independence. For more information, visit the Thriving Kids – Information for families webpage.

Friday 30th October marks Day for Daniel, Australia’s largest child safety education and awareness day held in memory of Daniel Morcombe. Students and staff are invited to wear RED on Friday 30th October to help raise awareness and show their support for child safety by donating a gold coin donation. Thank you to Mel P for organising this initiave.
