Book Week
We had a wonderful celebration of literacy on Thursday last week as we celebrated Book Week for this year. This year's theme was "Book An Adventure!" and encourages our kids to embark on fantastical journeys, inspiring them to travel through the worlds that books open up. We enjoyed hosting the staff and students from Bridgewater PS for a day of activities put together by our shared MARC Van Librarian Mrs. G and it was great to see the pride our Raywood kids took in sharing their learning space with others. A big thank you to Mrs. G for her working organising crafty learning activities for this day and also for organising for all students to receive a book to take home. We look forward to catching up with our new friends from Bridgey PS again next term.
Chicken House Renovations Underway!
We are very thankful to our local Kiwanis Club for their support in giving our Chicken House some much needed love and care. So far the group have removed some old fencing and will be back next week to install a new fence, fix up the gates and ensure it is chicken ready. Hopefully, this means after the school holidays we can re-introduce some feathery friends to our school environment. If you’re not aware, Kiwanis is an international organisation whose mission is to improve the world one child and community at a time. Our local Kiwanis group is very active throughout Bendigo and we certainly appreciate their help with this project.
Parent Opinion Survey
Parent Opinion Survey letters were sent home last week with all children. Please find a few moments to complete this important school feedback survey if you haven’t already 😊
Father’s Day Stall & Brekky
Next Friday (5th Sep) we will be having a Father’s Day Stall at school, students will need to bring up to $5 dollars to be able to choose something for their Dad/Special Person from the stall. We will also celebrating our Dads with a brekky on Friday morning between 8.30am – 9am, please come along if you’re able too.
Raywood PS Values Award
Congratulations to Lucian and Isabell for being recent recipients of our Raywood PS Values Award. Students receive this award for displaying either one or a combination of our school values; Respect, Responsibility and Resilience. Both Lucian and Isabell received their awards for showing responsibility towards caring for others at school. Great Work! – we appreciate you both.
