Mercy Prayer

Gallery Image

We pray for the Sisters of Mercy, who established our school and for the priests who have served at St. Mary’s.

It is through their vision, determination and strong faith that we enjoy the benefits of a Catholic Education here in Mooroopna.

We are proud to be a Mercy School, where the values of love and justice are taught and lived every day.

New Lenten Display

As a part of their Religious Education Lent and Easter unit, our Grade 1 /2s have been learning about the three pillars of Lent: Prayer, Giving to others and Letting go of unhelpful habits. Last week the students were asked to identify 3 things they could give of themselves by writing on purple leaves and. We have made a Giving Tree with all the things that our students can give to others this Lent. Jesus gave of himself; he did not give people gifts like cars or clothes. He gave things like companionship, friendship, time, a listening ear and care for those who felt left out. This is how he changed people’s lives.

Caritas: Project Compassion

Fourth Week of Lent (Week beginning Monday 16th March)

Gallery Image

In the fourth week of Lent, the Project Compassion story features Manaini from Fiji.

Life was hard for Manaini and her children living in rural Fiji. With the support from Caritas Australia’s partner, FRIEND, she learnt food processing and gardening skills, improving nutrition and creating new income opportunities to support her children’s education.

‘The project totally changed the life of my family and even the community,’ Manaini said.

The Choices I Make - Along the Track article

The latest edition of Along the Track entitled “The Choices I Make” is attached to today’s newsletter.

It is a sad fact that none of us will get through life without facing criticism, sometimes fair, sometimes unjustified, we will face opposition, we will be misunderstood, and our motives or actions may be judged poorly for reasons often unknown to us.

Kind regards,

Ann-Margaret Carroll
