School Reminder – Smart Watches, Toys and QParent
As part of maintaining a calm and focused learning environment, we ask families to please note the following reminders.
Smart Watches
Smart watches should not be worn at school if they become a distraction from learning. If parental controls have not been set up, students will be asked to place the watch in their school bag for the day.
If a smart watch or device is used inappropriately during school time, it will be confiscated and taken to the office where it will remain until it is collected by a parent or caregiver.
Toys and Trading Cards
A reminder that toys and trading cards (e.g. Pokémon cards) should not be brought to school. These items can easily be lost, damaged or cause distractions from learning, and sometimes lead to disagreements between students.
QParents
Please remember to sign up to QParents if you haven’t already. We have a number of excursions and incursions coming up, and QParents allows families to give consent quickly and easily, helping teachers and the office manage permissions efficiently.
Thank you for supporting our school in keeping learning time focused and organised for everyone.
☀️ No Hat, No Play
We are noticing an increasing number of students arriving at PE lessons without a hat. Our spare hat supply is very limited.
Please ensure your child brings their own clearly named hat to school every day. Hats are an important part of our SunSmart policy and are required for outdoor activities, including PE.
Thank you for helping us keep our students safe in the sun.
Student Absences
Please be aware that our student absence email is absentstudents@ironsidess.eq.edu.au, not studentabsence@ironsidess.eq.edu.au.
