Update on Statewide AEU Industrial Action
Staff who are members of the Australian Education Union (AEU) have been negotiating with the Victorian Government for improved pay and working conditions.
After many months of bargaining, no pay offer has been made, despite ongoing staffing shortages and Victorian public-school staff being among the lowest paid and lowest funded in Australia. [redflag.org.au]
AEU members are now voting on industrial action; with a statewide 24‑hour stop‑work planned for Tuesday 24 March if no progress is made. The union has also written to school councils outlining concerns about staffing, funding, and the need for fair pay and reasonable workloads. [redflag.org.au]
If the stop‑work goes ahead, we will share all the information families need to plan for the day. We appreciate our community’s understanding and support for fair conditions for all school staff.
Holi Celebration 🌈
This week, our staff came together to celebrate Holi, the Festival of Colours — a vibrant tradition that symbolises joy, new beginnings, and the arrival of spring.
Holi is known for bringing people together in a spirit of connection, positivity, and cultural appreciation.
It was a lovely opportunity for our team to share in the colour and meaning of this festival with colleagues across the school.
