Thank you for an amazing Father's Day Breakfast

A beautiful, if chilly, morning greeted our Fathers/Grandfathers/Carers and students on Friday, 5 September for our annual Father's Day Breakfast. This event was a resounding success and it's all thanks to the incredible support, time and had work invested by the parents who worked both in preparing for the event and on the day itself.

A very special mention goes to Eliza Nikolaou and Selvia Lee, who should be recognised for leading this event, including steering the parent volunteers on the day and working closely with AJ Bakery who provided an amazing selection of breakfast items.

Thank you to the following people for their help in making this event a huge success:

  • Tom and AJ Bakery for serving delicious savoury food
  • Woolworths Oakleigh and Coles Holmesglen for their kind donations
  • Jadey for the FDB poster
  • Iva for lending us the bain-maries
  • James at OSHC for lending us the tables and chairs
  • Volunteers: Anne, Wes, Terence, Sue, Louisa, Hoa, Melissa, Jade, Claire, Maria, Fonia, Christine, Josephine, Buddhika, Alexia, Vanessa, Louise, Reshma, Neekhil, Tony, Andrew, Sam, Keith and Matt.
  • School staff: James, Katherine, Anne, Susan, Deb, Bron, Michelle, Lucy and Sam.
  • Students:  Evelyn Chow (leading the craft table), Murphy Bryant (craft table), Emma Waszak (craft table), Stefania Reid (runner) and year 5/6's (moving boxes to the storage).

Thank you all for making this a fabulous celebration of Father's Day.

Second Hand uniform sale

Congratulations to the fantastic team of students led by Erin, who organised the Second Hand Uniform Shop. These students - Nadia, Aarya, Keith, Aednat, Fraser and Teoni - gave up their lunchtimes preparing for the shop. Thank you also to Alexa and Kai for their help on the day and to Anne in the office for her support at the payment table.

Thanks to their hard work, and the school community support, an impressive $927.50 was raised which will be put towards upgrading the Backyard in 2026.

Uniform expectations

As we move into Spring, families are reminded that full school uniform is required during all school hours and activities.

  • Non-uniform items such as puffer jackets, branded outerwear and hoodies are not to be worn in the classroom during the school day.
  • Personal jackets may be worn to and from school but must be removed once inside the classroom.
  • To stay warm, students may layer navy or black long-sleeved tops under their uniform and wear the OPS jumper or bomber jacket.
  • All uniform items should be clearly marked with the owner's name.

Hats on now

A quick reminder that all students should be wearing hats during recess and lunchtime.

From mid-August UV levels can reach 3 which is when sun protection is recommended.

Please ensure your child has a suitable SunSmart hat (one that is big enough to offer effective sun protection).

Illness – Unwell Students

As we enter the cooler months, we are seeing an increase in colds and flu. While we understand the importance of regular school attendance, we kindly ask that if your child is displaying symptoms or feeling unwell, please keep them at home. This helps prevent the spread of illness to other students and staff.

Gastroenteritis Reminder: If your child has experienced vomiting or diarrhoea, they must remain at home for at least 48 hours after the last episode before returning to school. This precaution helps keep our school community healthy and safe. Thank you for your understanding and support.
