Project Compassion: Living out the Spirit of Lent

As we continue through the season of Lent, we invite all families to participate in Project Compassion, an important initiative of Caritas Australia, the Catholic Agency for International Aid and Development.

This annual Lenten appeal is a significant way for our school community to put our faith into action, supporting vulnerable communities around the world to thrive. It's an opportunity for our students to learn about global social justice and the importance of solidarity.

In each classroom, we have placed a Project Compassion box within our class prayer spaces. We are encouraging students to donate small amounts of money to these boxes throughout Lent. A simple and meaningful way they can contribute is by donating their spare change, perhaps on canteen days or as a small act of self-sacrifice.

We appreciate your support in encouraging your children to reflect on the meaning of giving and the impact their generosity can have on the lives of others. All donations directly support Caritas Australia's vital work in creating a just and fairer world.

If you have filled your small family box that you received on Ash Wednesday, please return them to the office.

Mini Vinnies: Ready to Make a Difference

We are delighted to share that 22 of our Stage 3 students were commissioned into the Mini Vinnies group last week, proudly receiving their badges after making their pledge!

The students are committing to a meaningful mission: to grow their faith and actively serve others. Their goals include caring for those in our school and local community, contributing to the happiness of their families, and looking after God’s creation.

Please keep an eye out in future newsletters for the wonderful initiatives the Mini Vinnies will be coordinating throughout the year!
