Principals Afternoon Tea
On Friday some of our wonderful Primary students celebrated their achievement of 50 or more commendations by having Afternoon Tea with the Principal.
Students and Ms. Krause enjoyed some yummy food and a chat. Well done to these students - what an achievement!
Frog Habitat
The Grade 5/6 students have been working hard to convert the pond area into a frog habitat thanks to the Woolworths Junior Landcare Grant. The students all found different aspects of the project enjoyable and are looking forward to the local frogs migrating to the area. The students are proud of the improvement they made to the environment and have noticed a higher respect for the area as a result of the improvements.
Y3 and 4 CSI detectives
Miss Ibbetson organised a fantastic inference experience for Halloween for our Y3s & 4s. They had to analyse the evidence and determine who stole Mrs Zaslona’s lollies!
Thanks to all the staff suspects who were involved and made it an enriching experience for the students.
Kittens, Kittens, Kittens
Last week as a special treat recently Gracie Russell brought in two of her 6-week-old kittens, Hammy and Brian. The students were delighted and had lots of cuddles with the fluffy kittens. Thank you, Gracie and Charmaine!
Christmas Soirée
CALL OUT FOR CHRISTMAS RAFFLE DONATIONS
Our P-6 Christmas Soiree preparations are underway, and we are reaching out to families and local Altona businesses to kindly request your support in the form of donations for prizes for our end-of-year Christmas raffle. Your contribution will not only add excitement to the event but also help raise funds for our school. This year, all funds raised from the raffle will go directly toward providing sports equipment to enhance the physical education experiences of our students. Your support will have a direct and positive impact on the well-being and physical fitness of our students.
We would be grateful to receive any form of donations that you may be able to provide, whether they are products, gift certificates, services, or other items. No donation is too small, and we will gratefully accept any contributions you are willing to provide.
Please send any Christmas raffle donations directly to the office or to Ms Jodie Broughton (4A).
We sincerely thank you for considering our request and for your potential support. Your generosity will make a significant difference in ensuring the success of our Altona College Christmas Soiree Concert and in providing new sports equipment to our students. Thank you very much for your support!
Earth, Moon and Sun Excursion
On Thursday 9th November, Year 3 and 4 students attended Science Works as part of their current Inquiry topic. Not only did they get to explore the exhibits, but they also took part in a fantastic Earth, Moon, and Sun presentation. It was fantastic!
