Top Arts Excursion

The Art Creative Practice students had an excursion on Monday 28th April to visit the Top Arts gallery exhibition at the National Gallery of Victoria in the city.

The annual Top Arts exhibition provides a platform for emerging artists from across the state to showcase their skills, enthusiasm, and creativity. The exhibition highlights the increasingly innovative use of materials and techniques employed by students completing the VCE studies of Art Making and Exhibiting and Art Creative Practice in 2024 - students viewed previous students' work and folios to gain ideas for their future projects.

Students then visited Melbourne’s iconic street, Hosier Lane and viewed famous street art at The Outsiders gallery.

It was an enjoyable day!

We have had another two of our VM students sign up for School-based Apprenticeships and Traineeships (SBATs), which is fantastic.

Flynn D., in Year 12 VCE VM, has gained a carpentry apprenticeship with Andrew Shacklock from Lifestyle Home Solutions. Flynn is very happy to start his new journey as a carpenter, as is Andrew with the addition to his team.

Daniel B., in Year 11 VCE VM, is completing a traineeship with Reece Mentone. Daniel is hopeful of gaining an apprenticeship in plumbing, and this is a positive step towards his dream job. Daniel works on Wednesday morning (before TAFE), Fridays and Saturdays.
