Coming Up in Interschool Sport
We ventured to Turner Road Reserve with great numbers and hungry for victory. We played some outstanding footy with a team that had class on every line. From the first bounce of our match against Elwood, we were relentless and proved formidable opponents for opposing schools. Throughout the day, there were glimpses of brilliance from Jordan, who snapped the ankles of several opponents, whilst Miles was a brick wall in defence. Theo’s bullish work through the middle helped propel many forward entries, while Lachie saved the day against Albert Park in the final. Congratulations to the entire team on a fantastic effort! We look forward to advancing to the next round soon.

Thank you to all of the staff and students who participate in Interschool Sport each term. It is very exciting to announce that we will soon see our new set of team uniforms taking to the netball court and the football fields. We are currently working with our uniform supplier, Bob Stewart, on our new netball dresses and girls' football jumpers. With boys' football and generic tops to follow.
From State to Nationals
Congratulations to Dean in Year 8! Dean is a hitter and a pitcher for the Mariners Baseball Charter Team. Dean competed in the State Summer Championship in April. Although the Mariners came runners-up in the grand final, Dean has secured a place in the National Competition, to be played in Lismore NSW, later this year. Well done Dean!
Term 2 Chelt.Sec Flyers
Each term, we are on the lookout for Chelt.Sec Flyers; students and staff who are putting their best foot forward in their sporting endeavours. We welcome any details or photos that highlight our students and their achievements. Please send these to har@cheltsec.vic.edu.au
We have had some terrific numbers in our basketball sessions on Monday after school.
We have circulated expressions of interest in joining a basketball team, and unfortunately, none of the students wanting to join a team fall into the same age bracket. Cheltenham will not enter a team in the McKinnon Competition this winter but will consider our options for other competitions in the future and the local area.
Monday night skills and development sessions will run in Term 2, and all ages are welcome to participate. These sessions take place in our gym straight after school. Please email har@cheltsec.vic.edu.au to be added to the Compass event.
Our entries to Beachside Cross Country have been submitted for the event taking place on Friday 16th May. If you think that you have missed out, please email har@cheltsec.vic.edu.au. There are 15 places for boys and 15 places for girls across each year level.
