Yr12 VM Students Give Wildlife a New Home:
Our Year 12 Vocational Major (VM) students, Harley, Abe and Tyler, have been getting hands-on experience with sustainability by installing nest boxes around the school grounds.
The students worked together to put up the nest boxes in suitable locations around the school, creating new spaces for local wildlife to shelter, nest and raise their young.
The project has been a great opportunity for Harley, Abe and Tyler to develop practical skills, work as a team and make a positive contribution to the school environment.
The nest boxes are now in place, and we look forward to seeing whether any of our local wildlife takes up residence!
A big congratulations to Harley, Abe and Tyler for their hard work and for helping support local wildlife and biodiversity around our school and a big thank you to Tim for helping put them up.
Kerang Historical Society - VM students help out:
Museum Heritage Weekend
“As part of their Personal Development Skills curriculum the Year 12 VM Boys decided to help the Kerang Historical Society by helping them get ready for their Museum Heritage Weekend which took place on the 5th & 6th of September, the below images showcase the types of tasks they had to undertake like general cleaning, painting safety lines, and moving vintage cars. The Kerang Historical Society was very thankful for their assistance and even bought the boys lunch for their efforts.”
Growing Skills and Experience in Health!
Steph is completing her Head Start School Based Apprenticeship in the Health industry with Kerang District Health.
During a recent workplace visit, Steph shared that she is really enjoying her work and is gaining valuable experience while balancing her school studies.
It’s fantastic to see Steph building her confidence, developing new skills and getting hands-on experience in the health industry as she works towards her future career.

Year 11 Student Jackson is completing his Head Start School Based Apprenticeship with Scrivens Consolidated Industries
During a recent workplace visit, Jackson shared that work is going really well and he is enjoying his time on the job. He is also keeping up to date with his schoolwork and managing the balance between school and work well.
It’s fantastic to see Jackson building his skills, confidence and experience while working towards his future career.

Harrison is getting stuck into his Head Start School Based Apprenticeship with AB Building, gaining valuable hands-on experience while continuing his Year 10 studies.
It’s great to see Harrison building his confidence, developing practical workplace skills and becoming part of the team.

Great progress for Abe at North Fabrications and Hydraulics!
Abe is doing a fantastic job balancing his school studies with his Head Start School Based Apprenticeship and Traineeship (SBAT) at North Fabrications and Hydraulics.
During a recent workplace visit, Abe shared that he is enjoying his work and is doing well with his TAFE training. His employer spoke very positively about Abe’s progress, highlighting his work ethic, positive attitude and developing welding skills.
A big thank you to Dave, Mel and the team at North Fabrications and Hydraulics for supporting Abe and giving him the opportunity to develop his skills, confidence and experience while completing his school studies.
It’s great to see local employers investing in the next generation and helping young people build valuable skills for their future.

I am writing to inform you that our school is changing our mobile dental service provider. We are moving from our previous private dental van provider to Smile Squad. Smile Squad is the Victorian Government’s free school dental program.
We have made this change because Smile Squad is 100% free for all public school students.
It requires no out-of-pocket costs, no hidden fees, and no complex Medicare or private health insurance claims.
