Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program

Welcome to term two in our kitchen garden. 

The slower growth in Autumn offers an opportunity for us to get busy making compost with all the fallen leaves. Thankfully, we planted loads of veggies last term while the soil was still warm. We have added garlic, broad beans, lettuce, peas and poppies for Anzac Day. We also have some fun projects planned which include a playground for our chooks, adding to our bush tucker garden, investigating beautiful bees and exploring literacy through the garden.

 

There have been some changes to our SAKG timetable this term to cater for new class structures and uninterrupted Literacy and Numeracy sessions. ALL SESSIONS will now be one hour, including our senior cooking sessions. We will continue to alternate kitchen weeks and garden weeks. 

 

Session times are as follows:

Wednesday 

12:30 – 1:30   Foundation & Year 1 Brooks

2:10 – 3:10     Year 2 Flynn

 

Thursday

12:30 – 1:30 Year 3/4 Manners

2:10 – 3:10 Year 5/6 Condrit
