Child Safe Standard 11 – Policies and Procedures

At St Michael’s, our commitment to child safety is reflected in the policies and procedures that guide our everyday practices. Child Safe Standard 11 focuses on ensuring these are clearly documented, accessible and consistently applied to protect all children and young people.

Our policies outline expectations for appropriate behaviour, professional boundaries, mandatory reporting and processes for raising and responding to concerns. They ensure that all staff, volunteers and members of our school community understand their responsibilities in keeping children safe.

Families are important partners in this commitment. We encourage parents and carers to familiarise themselves with our Child Safety and Wellbeing Policy, ask questions, raise concerns when needed and encourage their children to speak openly about their experiences at school.

Together, we can ensure that child safety is more than a commitment – it is reflected in our actions, decisions and everyday practices.

Message from Ange,

Each month for the next ten months we will spotlight each of the 11 Child Safety Standards. MACS has developed resources  to support a deepened understanding of the standards for parents and teachers and how they help support the safety of each child.

If you have any feedback as to how we can further support upholding the Child Safe Standard or what we are already doing well, please email angela.flint@smnthmelbourne.catholic.edu.au
