Our Sacramental Journey

This weekend, the students preparing to receive the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist will be presented to the St Monica’s community at the parish masses. Families have been invited to attend one of the two masses at St Monica’s Church as we acknowledge and support the students on their faith journey.

Over recent weeks, the students have been gathering to learn about these sacraments and the symbols that help us understand their meaning in our lives. We invite all families to keep these students in your prayers as they continue preparing to celebrate the sacraments on 4 September.

A special moment this weekend for Louie in Grade 4, as he will be baptised at the Sunday morning Mass. This is Louie's first step in his faith journey. He will make his Reconciliation in the following weeks and then will join his classmates in the celebration of Confirmation and Eucharist on September 4. Congratulations Louie!!

St Monica’s Feast Day

Please add the following date to your calendar. Our St Monica’s Feast Day Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, 27 August, at 9:30am at St Joseph’s Church, Quarry Hill. The entire school community will gather to celebrate our patron saint and give thanks for the many blessings of our school. We warmly invite all parents, carers and family members to join us for this special celebration.

We look forward to sharing these important faith experiences with our students and families throughout the term.

Altar Servers Ministry

Our Cluster Parishes are looking for new altar servers. Recruitment is open for those who have received their Confirmation and First Eucharist and are willing to serve in the Church. Expressions of interest are most welcome. Parish Office at 5443 4400.

Rite of Christian Initiation of Children (RCIC) who Have Reached Catechetical Age

The Sacred Heart Cathedral Cluster of Parishes invites children aged 7+ and are interested in becoming Catholic to enrol in our RCIC Program. This program is “intended for children, not baptised as infants, who have attained the use of reason and are of catechetical age (7 years old and over). They seek Christian initiation either at the direction of their parents or guardians or, with parental permission, on their own initiative.” (RCIA, 306)
