Chilwell Magic Of Musicals Concert Reflection

What an amazing night was had at the 2025 Chilwell Magic of Musicals School Concert at Geelong Arena on Tuesday, 2nd December.

As a new Performing Arts teacher at Chilwell Primary School this year, I have had the privilege of building connections with Prep to Grade 6 students across the school. It has been an amazing experience seeing each child demonstrate their individual and collective class efforts as they learned, rehearsed and performed their year-level musical themes. I witnessed children singing, smiling and challenging themselves with dance steps they initially weren’t sure they could master.

I particularly enjoyed catching up with students after the concert and hearing about each person’s highlight or favourite part of the night. Many children loved performing in their own item and had clear favourites from other year levels as well. I was pleasantly surprised to hear just how many enjoyed the Staff Dance — well done, Chilwell staff!

Putting together my first whole-school Geelong Arena concert was certainly a valuable learning curve, and I am very excited about the opportunity to create the next whole-school concert.

Thank you to Meg and Sarah for placing your trust in me, and a huge thank you to all staff for your support in the lead up to and on the night. It truly was an amazing team effort.
