Child's Prayer for Advent

Lord Jesus, I love You and thank You for this Advent season.

Please help me to understand all that You have done for me.

Your loving mother held You in her heart and brought You into this world.

Mother Mary, pray for me this Advent so that I may do what God wants me to do.

You said “Yes” to all that God asked of you.

Please pray for me that I may do the same.

I love You, Lord Jesus.

Amen.

Dear Parents and Carers

It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas with the anticipation of new beginnings in the air. As I walked around the playground this week, I heard the happy chatter of our Year 6 students as they reminisced about their time at STMM. Our Year 5 students have been busy preparing and delivering captain speeches and all classes have started their Advent units. I look forward to seeing many of you over the final two of weeks at the Family Mass, Christmas Carols, and End of Year Graduation Mass. This year has flown by for me as your new principal but I am encouraged by what we have been able to achieve together.

At this busy time of year it is easy to get caught up in the Christmas hype and forget that Advent is a time to prepare for the coming of our Saviour. Try to spend quality time with your family and friends this year rather than just rushing from one event to another.

Playground Refurbishment

Despite the rain, our top playground refurbishment is still running on schedule for completion by the end of this year. The new layout is really taking shape now and I am confident the end result will provide a much improved facility for our students. I understand many of you were perplexed as to why this work has been undertaken during school time. The simple explanation is we applied for and received a grant from Sydney Catholic School's to undertake the project and the m has to be accessed this calendar year.

Accountant to Audit P&F Account

The P&F are looking for a qualified, independent accountant to help with the Financial Audit that must be completed annually. It is a legal requirement that this audit, to end of December 2023, be completed by March 24. As the normal cost of this service would absorb most of the fundraising efforts for the year,  the generosity of a qualified parent or friend to volunteer their services or assist with this at a reduced fee would be very much appreciated. If you are able to help, please contact the office or the P&F.

Reports

Semester 2 student reports will be available in compass from Monday . Please take the time to sit with your child and talk about the gains they have made this year, what have been the successes and what have been the challenges in their learning this year.

School Fees

As we come to the end of the school year, I remind those with outstanding school fees to finalise their account. I understand that many of you make significant sacrifices to provide your children with a Catholic education, so if you are having difficulties with fees please contact the school office.

I will send a short newsletter closer to the end of term informing you of the teachers for classes next year.
