College Life

A Feast of Flavour and Culture
Our talented Year 9 and 10 Food Technology students recently brought global cuisine to the table with their Cultural Menu Banquet!
Students embraced every stage of the project with enthusiasm, including initial concept and research through to taste-testing and refinement, showcasing their creativity and collaboration. Each group developed and prepared a dish inspired by a culture of their choice, demonstrating not only culinary skill but also a deep appreciation for cultural diversity.
After pitching their ideas and rallying for class votes, a final banquet menu was set, and it didn’t disappoint! The event culminated in a joyful shared meal with classmates and special guests, celebrating both food and community in equal measure.
Well done to our budding chefs. What a delicious way to learn!
ASC Rowing Gets Race Ready
Saturday 17 May saw ASC students ranging from Years 9 to 12 competing in four events at the Rowing WA Mettams Head Race. Our small boats divisions competed strongly in the 3km race. Boys double, William Thorne (Year 12) and Nithin Shivakumar (Year 10), competed in the Open Means Division, finishing fourth against some of the state's stronger club rowers.
Single scullers, Alicia Garvey (Year 10) and Nishaan Sunner (Year 10), competed in the Open division against strong competition in the Open age category. They finished fifth and sixth respectively out of roughly 10 entrants per division. The School Girls Open Quad (Rosie Bennison (Year 10), Ophelia Goh (Year 9), Hayley Walker (Year 10), Ella Smith (Year 10) and (cox) Charlie Huang (Year 9)) was a strong performer, pushing away with a strong win in a 4.5km race.
A special mention to Amalie Furchtenicht (Year 9) who took on the added responsibility of coxing the club senior men’s quad to a third place finish in the 4.5km race as well showing great leadership in a big race.
Whilst All Saints' have competed in ASC colours in this event before, this was the most entrants the College has ever had, showing ASC Rowing is stronger than ever in its 25th year.
Students have been training since Term 1 and are gearing up for a strong first All Schools Regatta on Sunday 15 June.
