Kalimera from beautiful Crete. I've had a wonderful week away so far, and we're thoroughly enjoying Greek Island life. I hope that every St Finbar's family has a wonderful break. I know that I say this every term, but we've certainly packed a lot into this short 9-week term. Our Peter Pan production was the obvious standout, but we've also fit in our swimming program, multiple Hoop Times, Division Athletics, 100 Days of Prep, Book Week and Year 5 camp.
Our Year 6 students are preparing for their Sacrament of Confirmation, which will be celebrated at St Patrick's Cathedral on 5th October. This week, they participated in their Family Faith Night and visited the Cathedral to familiarise themselves with this sacred space. We invite you to keep our Confirmands in your thoughts and prayers as they take this next step in their faith journey.
Enjoy your break
We’re excited to share that select families from our school will be helping pilot a new school fee management feature in the CDFpay app this term. From September 10th , you may see a new ‘School fees’ tile on the CDFpay home page, including the option to ‘Link school fees’. Families participating in the pilot will receive separate instructions on how to set up and manage school fee payments in CDFpay.
For all other families, we ask that you please disregard this new feature for now. If you do attempt to link your school fees, you’ll receive an error message. We look forward to providing you with an update on the pilot outcomes later this year and hope to be able to offer this new feature to all families in 2026!
We have some more great action shots from the Dads' Footy Day to share. These ones were taken by Matt Skehill (Year 5 dad) who volunteers his time at this event every year and takes some amazing photos.
The MACSIS survey window closes tomorrow (September 19th). Thank you to the 32 families who have completed the survey so far. This is your final chance to have your say on your thoughts about St Finbar's. We take the results of this survey seriously and spend time every year as a leadership team reviewing areas where we have grown in the last 12 months, as well as areas where we may need to pay closer attention. Last year, 79 families completed the survey, so we have some way to go to match this number by tomorrow.
A HUGE congratulations to the McGonagle family on the birth of your son/brother Bernard "Barney". Jess looks absolutely smitten in her new role as big sister.
Take care and God Bless,
