Principal's Report

Principal’s Message

I would like to begin by apologising for my absence from school recently due to an unexpected family matter overseas. I very much appreciate the support and understanding of our whole school community during this time. I am looking forward to reconnecting with the teachers, students and their families over the next couple of days.

What an exciting time we had celebrating Book Week! Our students embraced the opportunity to celebrate their love of reading, books and storytelling.

A special thank you to our parents and carers for the time, effort and creativity that went into supporting the children with their costumes. From beautifully crafted homemade creations to imaginative interpretations of much-loved characters, the effort was truly exceptional. These experiences help foster a genuine love of books and create wonderful memories for our students. Please see our Book Week Parade page for the pictures!

I would like to extend a very warm thank you to the father's and special people who visited our school on Friday afternoon. Please see our Father's Day Picnic page for the pictures.

As a school, we recognise the importance of supporting the mental health and wellbeing of every member of our community. R U OK? Day on Thursday 10 September provides an important opportunity to remind our students that asking someone, “Are you okay?” can make a real difference. Throughout the day we will acknowledge

R U OK? Day and continue to reinforce the importance of connection, kindness, looking out for others and knowing when and how to seek help. These are important life skills that extend well beyond one day and are an integral part of our commitment to student wellbeing.

As we move through the remainder of Term 3, we are taking the opportunity to refocus across the school on our routines, learning behaviours and behaviour expectations. Consistent routines provide students with the predictability and structure they need to feel safe, settled and ready to learn.

Teachers will be revisiting our school-wide expectations with students, including respectful interactions, following instructions, being ready to learn, moving safely around the school and taking responsibility for our choices. We will continue to explicitly teach and reinforce these expectations, recognising students who demonstrate them consistently.

Thank you to our students, staff, parents and carers for your ongoing support. There is much to celebrate within our school community, and I look forward to a positive and productive remainder of Term 3.

The Footy Day Parade and Sausage Sizzle will be held on Friday 18th September.

The parade will be held at 9:10am in the gym, with the sausage sizzle being held later in the day for students.

Your child has been sent home with a sausage order form last week. There are 2 options for dietary requirements, including halal beef and vegetarian. All sausages are being sold at $2.50.

Please be sure to write down the number of sausages your child would like to order and enclose the cash amount with the form.

Forms and payment can be returned to the office by Friday 11th September.
