As part of our commitment to caring for God’s creation and reducing waste within our school community, we are excited to introduce a new Soft Plastics Recycling Initiative.
Each classroom will now have a designated soft plastics recycling bag where students can place clean soft plastic items such as chip packets, muesli bar wrappers, bread bags, cling wrap and other soft plastic wrappings in their lunch box. These bags will be regularly collected and taken to local supermarkets for recycling.
This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to take practical action in caring for the environment and to become more aware of how small actions can make a big difference. We encourage families to support this initiative by discussing soft plastic recycling at home and helping children identify which items can be placed in the classroom collection bags.
Thank you for supporting us as we work together to care for our common home, which is one of the Catholic Social Teaching principles.
