Welcome back to Term 3!

Whether you've been away, stayed at home or been indulging in the World Cup, I hope you've all managed to have a restful break away from work. We had a couple of nights in Melbourne filled full of activities to entertain the kids, with an obligatory trip to Shepparton for some parenting "rest bite" with Han's parents. Han and I were able to get away for a night to explore some wineries in Heathcote.

Thank you Michelle for undertaking your role as Acting Assistant Principal last term. It was lovely working with you as part of our Principal Team. Welcome Back Bern! We hope you enjoyed your long service leave.

In Semester 1, 96% of our students achieved good, very good or excellent progress in their ILP Goals across all learning areas. This wouldn't be possible without the effort and attitude of our students, the commitment and resilience from our staff. Thank you.

Workforce

Welcome Molly (3/4C), Flynn (3/4D), Joey (CRT), and Navita Laina (Prep A), who join us as Education Support Staff.

Welcome Melissa, who has replaced Faith in 11/12A until the end of 2026. Thank you Vu for supporting the VPC team as the PLT Leader until the end of the year.

Thank to Nadya for taking on an Inclusion ES position for the remainder of the year and Justin for your flexibility.

Several ongoing and fixed-term opportunities will be advertised for teachers and ESs over the coming weeks to support our workforce planning for 2027.

Buildings & Grounds

Over the holidays, we continued to have several trades in each day. Thank you Dan and Azmi, for all of work you completed over the holidays. These have included:

Two independent retractable tiered seating systems seating up to 196 people (2 seperate seating systems of 98 seats.
Adding of playground rubber around the middle school playground to retain the soft fall mulch
Door from the corridor into the Staff Wellbeing Room
Revocation of the multi-purpose Staff Wellbeing Room (Lactation Room / Prayer Room). This includes a massage chair, fridge for breast milk only, bluetooth speaker and LED display. This room is available to all staff, but breastfeeding mothers and staff who prey at work take priority in the use of this room
This will now relocate the PBIS Jackstore nearer the library
Reinstatement of Intervention Room in Block 3 as a bookable space
Doors from the courtyard into the Radio Studio
Permanent ramps in the staffroom for the partition wall
Container compound at the rear of the site

We are pleased to add two new Toyota Coaster 22 seater buses and a Toyota RAV4 Hybrid car to our fleet. These will continue to be bookable through Xuno. If you would like to get you bus license please speak to Lorenda who can conduct training. The new Coasters will be delivered on Tuesday 14th July 2026. These two buses will replace buses YYE 500 and 1PW 2NA.

NAIDOC Week - 50 Years Deadly

"For five decades, NAIDOC Week has celebrated the voices of our communities — steady, unapologetic, and proud. Each year, its themes have called for truth, celebrated culture, honoured resistance, and reminded the nation of who we are.

Fifty Years of Deadly marks a milestone. It’s a tribute to the people who built this movement. the Elders who stood firm, the organisers who made space, the artists who turned resistance into expression, and the communities who keep showing up, year after year.

NAIDOC has always been more than a week — it’s a platform, a protest, a celebration, and a statement of survival."
