Celebrating Naidoc Week in the Art Room:
2025 NAIDOC Week Poster – Artwork Summary Title: Ancestral Lines Artist: Jeremy Morgan Worrall Theme: The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy
Ancestral Lines is a vibrant artwork that celebrates the strength and knowledge passed down through generations. The figures in the artwork represent family members walking forward, guided by the traditions, love, and wisdom of their ancestors. Each section of the painting symbolises important cultural elements—like storytelling around the fire, weaving, caring, and the connection to the stars and moon. It beautifully expresses how the next generation carries on culture, guided by the legacy of those who came before.
As part of NAIDOC Week celebrations, Art Club students learnt about Jeremy Morgan Worrall and explored the themes and meaning behind his artwork. Inspired by his use of colour, flowing lines, and storytelling, students created their own artworks that reflected their families, identities, and hopes for the future.
Warm regards,
