Father’s Day Celebrations

To all dads, grandfathers, uncles and other father figures...

We hope you have a wonderful day on Sunday 7 September. We hope you are spoilt for the day and thank you for being great role models for your children. We also remember those families who will not see their dads and keep them in our thoughts and prayers.

"God took the strength of a mountain, the majesty of a tree, the warmth of a summer sun, the calm of a quiet sea, the generous soul of nature, the comforting arm of night, the wisdom of the ages, the power of the eagle’s flight, the joy of a morning in spring, the faith of a mustard seed, the patience of eternity, the depth of a family need, then God combined these qualities, when there was nothing more to add, He knew His masterpiece was complete, and so, He called it … Dad."

We’re excited to invite all our dads, grandads, and father figures to join us for a special Father’s Day celebration on Friday 5 September, starting at 8:00am.

Come along and enjoy a delicious breakfast, followed by a fun Push-Up Challenge to get the morning moving! To add to the spirit of the day, everyone is encouraged to wear their favourite sporting team jersey.

It promises to be a joyful morning of connection, laughter, and celebration. We look forward to seeing you there!

Debating

In weeks 5 & 6 a group of Stage 3 students represented St Anthony's in the Botany Randwick Inter-School Debating competition. These students have demonstrated an immense amount of school pride by participating in this extracurricular activity. They worked on researching and preparing their debates, improving by working collaboratively and graciously accepting feedback.

The debate topics:

  • Video games should be considered a sport.

  • It is better to learn to code than learn to speak another language.

I would like to congratulate the students for their efforts:

Year 6 - Penny, Sam, Luke, Sienna, Lila, Morgan, Charlotte, Leila, Bianca

Year 5 - Henry, Eloise, Scarlett

Chairpeople: Bonnie, Azura, Poppy and Frances

Timekeepers: Waratah, Riley, Lilliane and Adele

Adjudicators from Marcellin: Noah Johnson, Massimo Neeson, Billy Siauwidjaja, Christian O'Sullivan

Adjudicators: Catherine Wernas and Sandy Mekhael

We offer our thoughts and prayers to Mrs Sue Stivala, who lost her father Patrick last week. We extend our sympathy to the family at this sad time. May eternal rest grant unto him O Lord and may perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace.

Yours in Partnership
