Library News

A huge thank you to everyone involved in making sure we had a fantastic time during Book Week! Despite the rain, the children had so much fun meeting our visiting author, Susanne Gervay, and parading around our school in their amazing costumes!
It takes a lot of work to put these events together, but it's so worth it when you see how excited the children are, and how much they enjoy the time dedicated to books and reading!
A big thank you to Mrs Novak, and all the staff for always supporting the library, and making reading for pleasure a priority in our school. I also want to thank Mrs Wernas and Miss Williamson for helping to choose the writing competition winners, and Mrs Iorfino for her unwavering support and for so much help on the day.
The winners of our Book Week writing competition this year were:
Year 1: Isla
Year 2: Beatrix
Year 3: Charlotte
Year 4: Aviva
Year 5: Henry
Year 6: Kiana
And in Kindergarten, Romeo was presented with the Reading Engagement and Enthusiasm award!
Well done to all of you!
Finally, congratulations to Ben and Aidan in Year 4 for winning the guessing competition. Enjoy your 'bookworms'!
We were able to raise $208.50 for the Indigenous Literacy Foundation, and these boys and their friends very generously purchased a lot of guesses!
The Premier's Reading Challenge continues...
I am excited to report that our entire Kindergarten, Year One, Year 2, Year 3 and Year 4 classes have already completed the challenge!
Congratulations to all of these students, and thanks to their teachers and parents for supporting the children with their reading.
Lots of our older students have also completed the challenge to date. Those who are still working toward the target of 20 books for Years 3-6 have until the 19th of September to log their books.
As always, I am here to help - many students bring me lists of books to be added to their accounts, and I encourage anyone who needs help logging books to do this.
Your support in encouraging the children read each day is greatly appreciated!
Don't forget your library bags!
Please take note of your child's library day, so they don't miss out on borrowing.
Tuesday: Years 3, 5, 6 and 1
Thursday: Years 2, 4 and Kindergarten
Yours in Love and Service,
