Gardening Club

A message on behalf of the Camelot Rise P. S. Gardening Club and Environment captains.

Hello Camelot community,

Over the last two and a half years, Gardening Club has recruited students of all ages from 

across the school. We gather for half of lunchtime once a week, put on our gardening gloves and get to work in the dirt. Dedicated students check on our plants during the week and sometimes on weekends, weeding, watering and protecting them. 

We have learned about how to plant seedlings, how to tell the difference between plants and weeds, and how to make sure they survive.

We also wanted to give thanks to Brian Schwass for building and gifting us with our new 

decorative garden signpost. “Your mind is a garden, your thoughts are the seeds, you can grow flowers, or you can grow weeds!”. This garden piece has brought philosophy and feeling to our garden and will be perfect for the climbing sweet peas.

Please come and support us by visiting our markets where we sell what we grow. We use the money made to sustain the activity of our club.

Market days will be advertised on Compass. They will always be a Friday afternoon after assembly. Please bring your gold coins.

Book Week and Book Fair

Students and staff have thoroughly enjoyed reading the CBA-shortlisted books selected for Book Week this year. All of the shortlisted books have been proudly displayed in the library, creating plenty of excitement and encouraging students to discover some wonderful new stories.

Dress-Up Day was a big hit last week, with students and staff showcasing some truly 

amazing and creative costumes. The parade in the gym was a fantastic celebration of 

everyone’s effort, and it was wonderful to see the enthusiasm and joy throughout the school.

This week, our Book Fair is being held in the library, giving students and parents the opportunity to purchase some great books to enjoy at home.

Visual Arts

Snowy Owls — Foundation students exploring texture and contrast through torn paper collage.

Year 5 & 6 Wire Mobiles - A selection of the exceptional wire mobiles recently created by our Year 5 and 6 students is currently on display in 

the school office. Inspired by modernist artist Alexander Calder, students explored wire joining techniques and used colourful beads and embellishments to create their own unique mobiles.

Production rehearsals

Production rehearsals are ramping up and the students are getting very excited.

Tomorrow the whole school will rehearse at school. We look forward to seeing it all come together.
