Another great week had by all at Red Cliffs Secondary College. This week we held our Swimming Sports Carnival down at the Red Cliffs Swimming Pool. Great to see so many students join in, compete, and encourage their teammates throughout the day. In what was perfect conditions for a swimming carnival, I thank all students and the many staff that organised this event. Congratulations to all age group champions. It hurts me to say that Allungah sustained its first defeat in SIX YEARS! Credit goes to Warragai, the winning house for 2023. Allungah will be out for redemption in 2024.
From 13th -16th February, Martin Heppell from The Resilience Project will be delivering a presentation for all students. An event on COMPASS has been created, please ensure you have given permission for your child to attend this event. Students will travel to and from the event via busses organised by the school.
Year 7, 8 and 9 students will all attend the presentation on Wednesday, 5th February, taking place from session 1-3.
Year 10, 11 and 12 will all attend the presentation on Thursday, 16th February, taking place from session 1-3.
There is also an opportunity for parents and guardians to attend a presentation, on Wednesday, 15th February 6:30pm-8:00pm. Parents will need to register for this event at the following link.
It was great to see many of our students return in correct school uniform this week. However, it was disappointing to see some students not meeting the expected uniform standards, so I would like to clarify any confusion with the updated uniform policy for 2023. I ask all parents and guardians to support your children to ensure they are meeting the expected uniform standards in 2023.
Grey bottoms are now phased out and not accepted as part of our uniform policy in 2023. Parents and guardians will be contacted if students are out of uniform.
On the 28th February we are inviting all families to our school for a BBQ and Information Night from 6:00pm-7:30pm. The purpose of this is for families to meet the teachers of Red Cliffs Secondary College and enjoy a friendly catch up while enjoying some food and drinks. There will be some information to be passed on that is relevant to all students and year levels. As a school we are aiming to build a strong connection with families and the community. This will be a great way to catch up, chat with our teachers and have any questions you may have answered. There will be further information coming out next week, so please stay tuned to our social media accounts.
For catering purposes, please RSVP by contacting the school via phone or email by Friday, 24th February, 2023.
Have a great weekend and looking forward to continuing the great work at Red Cliffs Secondary College in Week 4.
