Hello Palm Beach families. Isn’t it great to be a Queenslander!!

It is hard to believe we are already at the end of Semester One. Thank you for your continued support over the past two terms and we look forward to seeing everyone back next term. If you are travelling over the break, please travel safely and if you are staying on the Gold Coast take care. School returns on Monday 10th July.

Surfing Comp

Yesterday we held our inaugural interschool surfing competition against Currumbin SS and Coolangatta SS at Kirra. It was a magic day weather wise and there was some nice swell for the competitors. All of our students surfed very well and represented our school with pride coming second overall.

We look forward to continuing this competition and continuing to develop our surfing program.

A huge thanks to Mr Cocks and Mr Locke for their hard work in organising this opportunity for our students. Also, thank you to the parents for supporting this event and our surfing team.

Rugby League Grand Final

Last Monday night our Senior Rugby League team played in the A Division Grand Final against Currumbin SS at Burleigh Bears. Our student played with great determination and really gave a red-hot Currumbin team a run for their money. Although we lost the game, our students should be very proud of the way they played on the night and throughout the season, never giving in and playing for each other.

A huge thank-you to Mrs Burrage and Mr Kannon Rajah for coaching the team this season, they did an amazing job!

Carpark Safety

Several parents have raised concerns about the conduct of some drivers in the rear carpark near the tennis courts on the corner of Townson Avenue and Lind Avenue. Please drive safely and responsibly in the school rear car park. It's important to prioritise the safety of our students, staff, and parents. Adhere to speed limits, watch out for pedestrians, and follow designated traffic flow and parking guidelines. Let's continue to create a secure environment for everyone at our school.

Amphitheatre

Thanks to our school P&C, we are thrilled to announce that over the holidays, construction will begin on a brand-new amphitheatre near the oval! This facility will provide an incredible space for our students to use for performances, whole class activities and other special events. We can't wait to see our students and school community utilising this stunning new addition to our school.

Semester One Report Cards

By now you should have received Semester One report cards for your children via e-mail. Congratulations to all of our students for their effort this semester, this has resulted in excellent academic results across our school.

We welcome the opportunity to discuss your child’s progress with you next term and have scheduled parent/teacher interviews for Tuesday the 25th July. Please mark this important date in your diary.

Athletics Carnivals

In week two next term we have scheduled our school athletics carnivals for Wednesday 19th (Years 3-6) and Thursday 20th (Prep – Year 2). We look forward to seeing our school community at these events.
