Student Representative Council Meeting

Please see below the conversations held at this month's SRC Meeting.

  • Liam asked if there will be After School Care in the new building Colin replied that no it will be continuing at the Watsonia campus
  • New Library requested by Bree. Colin said that the library is now in the Discovery Centre
  • “When will the new building begin building asked Olivia. Colin replied- May 2019
  • Noah asked how will we access the second storey. Colin replied a lift will be part of the new building.
  • Lakisha asked if the break out rooms in the new building will be available to everyone. Colin replied that he was not sure at this stage decision will be made at a later date.
  • Ruby believes that there are not enough student lavatories in the Secondary 11/12 building. Colin will give the feedback to the Architects to ensure the new building has adequate lavatories.
  • There was a suggestion for new music to be played during line up time by Noah. Colin said that is a wonderful ideas and that he would discuss with Jason and Khiem to have an updated playlist made available.
  • Luke suggested that we should get new writing books. Colin will take this suggestion to Team Leaders for consideration.
  • Aaliyah believes that students are disrespecting the plant life around the school and damaging gardens- Colin will speak with staff to remind students about caring for the environment.
  • Reece has an issue with safety on some buses with students standing up out of their seats. Colin agreed that this was a safety issue and he will communicate this concern with Bus Supervisors and ensure students are seated and belts are on.
  • Lakisha asked why can’t you sit where you want on the bus. Colin replied that some buses have seating arrangements due to behaviour issues and that the Bus Supervisor  is responsible for this process.

What is your role at Concord School?

 I have been working at Concord School in a  relief capacity and have recently secured an Education Support Job.

Provide us with a ‘snapshot’ into your daily routine at Concord School:

I  work with students in different classes within Secondary 7/8 and also work 1:1 with students as required.

What do you love most about working at Concord School?

I enjoy helping students reach their best potential.
