R U OK/ A NATIONAL DAY OF CARE

Thursday 13th September 2018, was celebrated as a National RUOK Day?  It is celebrated everywhere in Australia and reminds people to ask that all important question that could potentially save a life.  "RUOK? Day was originally created as a day to make people aware of mental health, wellbeing and suicide.

RUOK? Day is a suicide-prevention charity reminding people that having a simple, yet meaningful conversation could make all the difference in someone's life.  Their slogan is "a conversation could save a life," a short and simple sentence that truly shows that talking about your problems can help you and make them better.

To promote the happy, but very serious day, our school organised particular activities to bring to everyone's mind the true threats of a sad wellbeing.  Our teachers held a special assembly that lasted 10 minutes longer than usual in order to show how we can be aware of the dangers and the simple efforts that could save a life.
