Indi Spiers (no.66), Year 11, competing in the FIS Europa Cup, Finland
Indi Speirs, Year 11, spent her summer holidays competing in Finland, as part of the Australian Development Team. She competed in the FIS Europa Cup freestyle skiing tour against moguls skiers from 13 participating nations. Indi departed on December 15 and returned home February 6, having travelled to Jyväskylä where she placed 4th and 5th and then onto Tailvalkoski where she placed 4th before going on to win the dual moguls. Congratulations Indi on this outstanding achievement!
Students have made a fantastic start to the sport program for 2022. Interschool competition will be played in a round robin format spread across three weeks, kicking off on March 4 for Year 8 against Beaumaris, followed by Mordialloc and then Parkdale. The Year 7’s will get their first taste of interschool competition on March 8. We have students representing the college in tennis, volleyball, baseball and cricket. Students not competing will continue to enjoy building their skills and fitness in dance, rock and water, chess and at Arena Fitness.
Students in Years 9-12 are busy training and preparing for their interschool competition on Thursday March 31st (intermediate) and Monday April 4th (senior). We are looking forward to having students represent the College in cricket, volleyball, basketball, tennis, softball, baseball and futsal.

The Kingston Sports Intermediate Cricket round robin championship was held at Caulfield Park on Monday 21st of February. In our first match against Brighton we batted first and scored 4 for 72 off 10 overs with Ryan McCaffrey top scoring with 25 not out and Archie Mattson 18. Brighton then scored 0 for 144 for an easy win. In the second match against Beaumaris we scored 3 for 50 with Ryan McAffrey top scoring with 19 and Archie Mattson 17. Beaumaris then scored 3 for 61 to take the win. In our last game against Westall, they made 0 for 92 and we beat that with 2 for 98. Archie Mattson top scored with 52 not out and Geordie Dennis made a fine 23. All the boys were good sports and made the day lots of fun, well done to Archie Mattson who did a good job of captaining the team and was voted most valuable player by his peers.
