2022 Foundation Transition Days

This Friday is our last morning for our future Foundation students. Over the past two Fridays, the F/1 teachers have been meeting and working with small groups. The final transition session will be on the whole school transition day on 7th December, where they will meet their class and teacher for 2022.

It has been great to see the smiles and their enthusiasm to begin school at Moonee Ponds West next year.

Year 2 Camp Day

Wednesday 24th is the Year 2 Camp Day.

There will be bike education and team building sessions, a chance to slip into their PJ's and sleeping bag for a movie and then dressed again for an eventful afternoon and sausage sizzle after school. Pick up from Athol Street gates at 6pm.

The forecast is for some rain tomorrow, so make sure students bring a coat. We will try to get as much of the outdoor activities completed around the weather.

Will be a fun day for all.

End of Year Reports

We are coming to the end of the 2021 school year and the end of year reporting will be finalised in the coming weeks. Again, due to COVID the reporting expectations are slightly modified for this Semester.

This term, you should continue to receive Ongoing Reporting Learning Tasks from the classroom and specialists. Please remember the purpose of the ongoing reporting is to give you insight into how your child is going at a particular point in time.

The rubrics in these tasks provide details of the skills your child is currently demonstrating (highlighted section) and then to the right of the highlighted section are the next steps in that particular area. These are also accompanied by a work sample to see evidence of the work being completed in the particular learning area also.

Semester Reports will be published digitally on Compass on Friday 10th December. This will again include an indication of how your child is performing against the Victorian Curriculum for Literacy, Numeracy and Personal/Social domains and a general comment for your child’s achievement throughout the semester. This is much shorter than reporting in the past, as most of the detail has been communicated throughout the terms in the Ongoing Reporting.

The Semester Reports will also include a graphical representation for the Progress Reports for the year, including the cycle that will be completed in week 9.

Specialist Reports are slightly modified again this year due to COVID, and will include a comment of the learning undertaken in Semester 2.

Year 6 Graduation

The Year 6 Graduation will be going ahead on Tuesday 14th December. We are currently working on the arrangements for the Graduation with the 5/6 team and hope to communicate this to our Year 6 families in the coming days.

Transition Day

The state-wide transition day is on Tuesday 7th December, this is when our students will move into their 2022 classes. Our year 6s transition to their secondary school for year 7 orientation.  Stay tuned for more information next week.
