Visual Arts 

The students are all working beautifully down in the art room. 

Below are some images created by Year 2 .  They depict how God loves us and how we can love him by caring for our earth, our gardens and our family trees.  They were inspired by a book in their classrom called 'God Loves us.' 

This week in Visual Arts we started preparing some of our designs to celebrate National Reconciliation Week which runs from May 27 to June 3rd.  Whilst acknowledging the Traditional, Present, Past and emerging Indigenous custodians and artists, we discussed this year's theme which is  " Be Brave, Make Change".

With that in mind, we looked at some more traditional pictures of Indigenous animals that Artists have featured thousands of years ago on rock and bark paintings. Our challenge was to be brave and make change by adding our own style to our art by adding contemporary colours and incorporating some geometric patterning. Here are some of our beautiful animals from across a range of year levels........
