Student Agency

This Term, we have held elections in our Year 1-6 classrooms for Student Agency Class Representatives. The Foundation Class Representatives will be chosen next Term.

Children who wished to be elected arranged a presentation for their teacher or class, (depending on the year level), sharing why they believe they would be the best candidate to represent their class.

The criteria they spoke to, is below:

  • Respectful to all staff and students at Clyde Primary
  • Kind
  • Patient
  • Confident to speak in front of people
  • Organised
  • Helpful
  • Passionate about the role

The role of a Student Agency Class Representative is a vital one, as it helps us empower students for the future. We are not simply giving students the opportunity to communicate ideas and opinions; the purpose of this team is about students having the power to influence change. We provide opportunities for students to collaborate and make decisions with adults around what and how they learn. This is known to lead to improved educational outcomes.

This year, Miss Alexandra King will be working with the Student Agency team.  This team will also be guided and supported by Mrs Mackenlay and classroom teachers.
