Principal's Report

Dear students, parents and carers,

With a week left of school for the term there are a lot of things to mention. As you receive this newsletter we are engaging in Fun Friday activities. So far I have visited all sessions across the school from Scavenger Hunts, Celebrity Heads, Corries Cats and Magic Tricks-of which I am going to try some on my own family. Going by the number of students logged on it has been a real success so far.

There are a number of points I would like to reference that are in the newsletter this week. There is information on vaccinations and if you would like to talk to someone at school please call Jenny on 9788 2222.

Activities for next week include a Lego competition, cupcake competition as well as Footy Day on Wednesday. I have my fingers crossed that the team I support will win on the weekend and play in the Grand Final.

We have had some staff changes in the last few weeks and there will be a few more at the end of the term. We would like to congratulate Michelle Bolivar who has been successful in being appointed as an Assistant Principal in a new school. As a result Susana Leiva is now supporting the Junior School as the section leader.

We have finally found a Mental Health Practitioner-Kristen Pringle. Her role is to support our secondary aged students. Kristen has only been in the school a couple of weeks and she has quickly settled into the team getting to know the students.

We have another staff member leaving at the end of term. Melinda Mitchell-Daws in Lower Juniors has secured a position as a visiting teacher with the region. Today I can confirm we have successfully appointed someone to the position-Simone Gray. Whilst Simone does not start until next term there is some time planned next week for a handover.

Linda, from the office, has decided to retire at the end of the term. She has been a part of the school for a long time. You have more than likely had conversations with her at the office.

Finally, next Friday, we are having a first - a whole school online assembly which will start at 9.10am.

Assistant Principal

Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey -extended to Fri 17th Sept

Please take a few minutes to complete the survey if you received the link in your email.

Our school is conducting a survey to find out what parents/caregivers/guardians think of our school. The Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey is an annual survey offered by the Department of Education and Training that is conducted amongst a sample of randomly selected parents/caregivers/guardians (previously known as the Parent Opinion Survey). It is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, student engagement and experiences of remote and flexible learning. Our school will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies. Approximately 30 per cent of parents will be invited to participate in this year’s survey. . All responses to the survey are anonymous. This year, the Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey will be conducted from Monday 19th July to Friday 17th September.

The survey will be conducted online, only takes 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time within the fieldwork period on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones.

Please contact the main office if you would like more information or if you've lost your unique log in link to access the survey.
