Meet Our Staff

Michelle Gomez, Val Petrovski, Julie Dunn

Hello, I’m Michelle Gomez and I’m very lucky to be in the role of Education Support in 3/4B.

The most important thing in my life is my Family.  I’ve been married to John for over 18 years, and we have four beautiful Children who keep us very busy running them around for sport, work and their social life.

We have a cute cat named Gizmo and a Jack Russell named Jack (very original!) They do get along most of the time and during the AFL season we often find them watching the footy together!!

I barrack for Collingwood and love going to the footy, I enjoy travelling, socialising with Family and Friends, reading and walking our dog.

It has been an awesome year getting to know all the wonderful Bundoora Primary School Families and students!

Hi Everyone

My name is Val Petrovski and for the last 10 and a bit years, I have served the children of Bundoora Primary School (and I really mean served) as Canteen Manager. I love my job and see the children as an extension of my family. To feed my family gives me so much satisfaction! I love the smiles on the children’s faces on Donut Days and a simple “thankyou” can make my day!

Prior to beginning my canteen job, when my children attended the school, I ran the BPS Uniform Shop for 13 years, as a volunteer. My husband was on School Council for 13 years and two of my three daughters worked in the Outside School Hours Care program.

Apart from my daughters and husband, our family is completed with our Labrador Asha and our Dachshund Frank. Asha is an ex-Border force pup who we trained to fail (haha), so we adopted her. Frank is my eldest daughter’s COVID puppy who was bestowed on Mum and Dad permanently when she returned to work. He is adorable, but very naughty!

The highlight of my time at Bundoora was the surprise celebration of my 10-year work anniversary. I was humbled and overwhelmed by the reception I received when I walked into the hall and couldn’t contain my tears of joy.

When not at work I enjoy cooking, shopping, Hallmark movies (especially the Christmas ones), walking the dogs and after 30 odd years, watching the Tigers win premierships.

Hi I’m Julie Dunn,

I have been the assistant principal at BPS since 2017. The BPS community had been a major part of my life for over 30 years, and I have loved every moment of it. I’ve taught at all year levels and was the Art teacher and librarian at one point. Most people in the community however remember me as the prep teacher, as I taught preps for most of my teaching career. Seeing students happy and engaged in school is very important to me and has kept me motivated to always do better. It is wonderful when past students and families pop into say hi and fill me in on what they have achieved in their lives.

In my free time I enjoy Pilates and yoga. I also love to travel and visit new places both in Australia and overseas with my family and friends. I follow Collingwood in the AFL and love to go to the footy when I can.

(Don’t hold that against me!)

My favourite way to start the school day is being greeted at the gate each morning by the smiling faces of our wonderful students and their families.

Keep smiling 😊
