Environment Committee

Thanks to everyone who attended the working bee on Sunday. If you get the chance, have a look around the school grounds and see some of the great work done. We put down new topping near the Ga-Ga Ball Pit, did lots of weeding, mulching, pruning and a general cleaning up of the school grounds. We were also excited to re-discover the wonderful mosaic path near the Eglinton Street fence! A special thanks to Adam Wilson for all of the work he did both on the day but also in the lead up to the working bee.

Please enjoy the photo gallery from the day below:

The Environment Sub-Committee will be undertaking numerous tasks in the coming months including:

  • overseeing implementation of the recommendations of our recent energy audit;
  • working with experts to develop a landscape and planting plan for the School with a special focus on native plants;
  • creating our edible garden through the grant received from Moonee Valley Council;
  • continuing implementation of the Resource Smart School Program; and
  • working with Green team in their ongoing activities.

We’d love more parents to become involved in the work of the Sub-Committee. You don’t have to come to meetings and can do activities in your own time. If you’re interested, feel free to contact the office or one of the parent reps, Nigel Toussaint, Sara Melvin, Bec Romano or Nicole Marshall.
