Victorian Global Learning Awards

I am delighted to announce that one of our international students, Phu N, has won the Commendation Award in the 2023 Victorian Global Learning Community Engagement Awards. This award recognises the active participation of international students in activities and groups that have a positive impact not only on our school but also on the wider community. It is a testament to Phu's dedication and his commitment to making a difference in the lives of others.

Phu commenced at Auburn High School in 2017 in Year 7, and successfully completed his Year 12 Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) studies in 2022. During his time at Auburn High School, Phu has shown himself to be a highly organised, hard-working, and conscientious student who interacts positively with peers and teachers alike. Phu has received many Auburn High School DARE awards for his commitment to Auburn High School values and his contribution to our school community. Not only has he been a positive an excellent role model for international students he has organised school wide events such as the Basketball and Futsal Cups. He motivated other international students to participate and form friendships with local students through sports. He has been active in fundraising and charitable activities. Phu was part of the student “Relay For Life” team, helping the school to raise funds to be donated to the Cancer Council. Teaming up with a group of AHS students, Phu and his classmates signed up for the World’s Greatest Shave and united the whole school community for this great initiative. Phu was also being accepted into the Kwong Lee Dow Young Scholars Program. It is an academic enrichment program, run by The University of Melbourne. which supports high-achieving VCE students.

Please join me in congratulating Phu on this outstanding accomplishment. His dedication, leadership, and positive impact on our school and wider community are truly deserving of this award. Phu, we are so proud of you, and we are excited to witness the great things you will continue to achieve in the future. Once again, congratulations, Phu!
